Kiara McClendon is a multifaceted entrepreneur. A financial literacy advocate, a writer, a published author & educator, collegiate athletic profession, and MUCH more, she merges experience and expertise to create unique and engaging guest speaking engagements, bootcamps, and products. With Exceptional Athlete, each session is specifically designed to fit her audience and help them maximize their potential and manage their personal finances. McClendon is committed to empowering communities of color by teaching financial literacy and entrepreneurship. She's continued her education in finance/financial management through a combination of continuing education coursework and personal experience. 

By day, McClendon works as an Associate Director of Student-Athlete Services, where she mentors Division I student-athletes in academic preparedness, personal & leadership development, and transitions through graduation. To date, she's built programming for Division I athletes in areas of financial education, Black female student-athlete leadership development, racial bias training, student-athlete parents, bridge transition programming, and more. 

A New Jersey native. McClendon is a two time  graduate of Rutgers University with her Bachelor’s in Communication & Africana Studies and Master's in Health Communication. She received her second Master’s of Education from Virginia Commonwealth University shortly after
